10-0-2 Lawn Food is the Right Mix

The appearance and health of an athletic field or turf area is almost as important as who is playing on it. The lawn underfoot of sports players can affect performance and can be impactful in the prevention of injuries. Any good turf manager knows how important lawn food can be to the health and appearance of a field. One wrong selection can destroy years of maintenance and care. However, the right choice can make a turf managers job easier. A healthier lawn does a much better job of sustaining itself, thereby requiring less intervention in the way of chemicals and enhancements. One excellent product for all turf managers is 10-0-2 Lawn Food sold by Tech Terra Environmental. This product contains Crabgrass Prevention and is a very effective fertilizer without the use of harsh chemicals.

Natural Grass is Better than Artificial Turf

It is becoming more widely accepted that green spaces are actually beneficial for our overall health. Spending time around natural grass and plants can lower blood pressure and reduce negative feelings associated with stress, anxiety, and fear. In addition to all these benefits, a grass field requires less maintenance time than an artificial surface. Soil and grass can absorb and recycle liquids and fluids, food, and other detritus like leaves. A fake field, however, needs to have all those items physically removed from the surface. Depending on the size of the field, this can be extremely time consuming. Lastly, repairing damaged areas is much simpler with a lawn than it is with turf. Grass can easily repair itself and can therefore stand up to a lot more wear and tear. An entire artificial turf surface will need to be replaced after significant wear. In summary, grass is better.

Natural Grass is Better in Other Ways Also

Aside from the maintenance view on the grass versus turf argument, there is the performance aspect. There have been many studies done on the amount and severity of injuries of players playing on turf versus grass. Many of them have found slight to significant increasing numbers of injuries in turf played football games versus natural grass. Plus, as Project Evergreen points out, “2,500 sq. ft. of turf (grass) releases enough oxygen for a family of four to breathe.” That is a tough benefit to ignore. Lastly, construction costs for synthetic turf commonly is higher than construction costs for a natural grass field.

There is a lot that 10-0-2 Lawn Food Does Not Have

Many products nowadays boast all the things that aren’t in the product over what is. 10-0-2 Lawn Food can easily join this group. For one, this lawn food does not contain any harsh ingredients. It is plant-based and also does not include manure or biosolids. One last thing this Branch Creek product does not include is Synthetic Phosphorous so can be used in areas where phosphorous use is banned. 10-0-2 doesn’t have so many things that there are no re-entry restrictions after application because it is so safe. Plus, it can also be used during seeding due to its lack of harmful ingredients. It’s so safe it doesn’t affect seed germination. On the label, 10-0-2 Lawn Food is “derived from corn processing food waste and is blended with processed corn gluten meal and boasts our patented plant protein technology.” It doesn’t get much better than that.

The Choice for 10-0-2 Lawn Food is Clear

There will always be proponents of artificial turf. As with any argument, there are two sides to every story. There very well may be situations where synthetic grass is appropriate. However, when it comes to sports fields, where people gather, and kids play, there is no replacement for natural grass. When you want a lush, green playing surface, you can trust 10-0-2 Lawn Food. There is nothing harmful inside. It is so safe that the EPA does not require it to register with them giving it a FIFRA 25(b) Exemption. Apart from all the benefits we covered, we feel it would be a mistake not to mention the sense of pride a turf manager gets in the proper care of their field. Close attention and care can result in a lush healthy field that is not just pleasurable to look at, but fun to play on too.

Searching Homes for Sale in Lavallette

Homes for sale in Lavallette showing a beach home surrounded by beach grass with Lavallette, New Jersey written in Italic script at top of photo

Buying a home is a big investment.  Purchasing a home in a vacation area may be an even bigger investment. Whether the home is being purchased for a primary residence, a secondary residence, or a rental income property, it is going to cost the same.  However, how and where you get the money and what loans and mortgages are available depend on this point. It is a big decision no matter what your financial status is.  There are some important factors to consider before setting out on your Lavallette real estate journey.  The first step in finding homes for sale Lavallette is partnering with a realtor experienced in the area like Birchler Realtors.  They have an office right in town and their realtors are extremely knowledgeable about the area, the market, and the homes available.

Step One

The very first decision to be made before you even look at homes for sale in Lavallette NJ is what the primary use is going to be.  Even though the price will be the same no matter what, how you purchase it could differ based on the answer to this question.  If you are purchasing a primary residence, you will most likely go through normal channels involving a standard mortgage and loan process. However, the banking portion will be very different if this home will be a second home or an income property.  The requirements vary based on this distinction.  This is also why this question needs to be answered before any others. Determining where and how you will provide the money for this home is crucial before proceeding any farther.

Location Location Location

Knowing what town you want to buy in is great.  Narrowing it down to a more specific area is not only helpful, but important.  Limiting your search area not only saves your realtor time, but saves you time and trouble too. Knowing whether you want to be on the water or just near the water.  Would you prefer a home closer to the ocean or closer to the bay? These are essential decisions to make.  Working with a realtor familiar with the area can help you discuss the pros and cons of each side to help determine the perfect location for your new home.

Size Matters

What size home you want or need is obviously a big factor in searching for homes for sale in Lavallette.  This decision is directly linked to step one.  Knowing whether your home is going to be primarily for you or for others will dictate just how large a home you need.  If, for example, you are searching for a rental property, you may be looking for a home with enough bedrooms to accommodate a large family or multiple families.  However, if it is just for your family, you won’t need a home that spacious.

Homes for Sale Lavallette Prices Vary Greatly

Again, dependent on what you will be using the home for, where you want the home located, and how large the home is all directly link to the price of the home.  Looking at it from another angle, how much you can afford or how much you can afford to mortgage will limit the list of available homes for sale in Lavallette that will work for you. If you are looking for a home that will be an income property, you may be able to look at more expensive homes.  If, however, you are simply looking for a second home or just looking to move to Lavallette, the price of the home will govern a lot of your other decisions.  The closer to the water the home is, the higher the price.  Same goes with size, logically.  Larger homes will cost more.

Looking for Homes for Sale in Lavallette Requires a Skilled Realtor

Depending on where you are looking for a home, you may be able to look a bit online, drive around the neighborhoods, and research on your own to find a few homes you want to see.  When searching for homes for sale in Lavallette, however, it can be staggering.  Speaking with an experienced and knowledgeable realtor is key.  They can help you navigate through the maze of homes to find a dream home for you.  By answering some of the questions we’ve gone over in this article, between you and them, you’ll be able to narrow down the list of possibilities to a manageable number.  Rather than being overwhelmed, get in touch with a local realtor.  They know the most about the area and the homes available.  Working with one of these realtors will make your journey into searching homes for sale Lavallette much more enjoyable and effective.

Some of the alternative options listed here are new to the industry. A few are just not as popular as other common choices. Because the same item doesn’t suit all projects, one of these unique selections may be just what you’ve been searching for.

Lava – Yes, lava. Among the top positive aspects of this option is obviously its heat resistance. It is a very durable product resisting almost all chips and cracks. It is pretty easy to customize too, having a rainbow of colors available. The largest disadvantage of lava will be the cost. A considerable portion of the cost is due to the price to import the material.

Resin – Even though not necessarily a brand new item, a resin countertop allows for the highest degree of customization. For those who can’t find anything else that looks precisely how you’d like it, take look at resin. Your custom home builder in Summit can review all the pros and cons with you. There’s not a significant amount of negative things to say about resin countertops. That being said, the largest drawback of resin is the range of qualities available. In regards to resin countertops, you get what you pay for. Make sure you know what type of resin is being used in the production. Discuss factors like heat resistance, durability, and cost.

Stainless Steel – Though this has grown to be essentially the most well-known option for appliance finishes. However, the option to work with it for countertops in your home is still relatively new. Whether you are looking for elegance or sensibility, stainless steel easily fits in each of these categories. Stainless steel may be most identified for its sanitary qualities. While it is easy to clean and maintain, several folks dislike it for a countertop material because of its cold feel.

Eco-Friendly Countertops

When deciding to construct your own custom house, you may wish to be conscious of your effect on the environment. With all of the green possibilities around for appliances and other components of the residence, don’t forget about your countertops. A countertop can take up a significant portion of your kitchen. When you choose a green material for your countertop, you can feel fantastic about that decision. Some eco-friendly products are not only made of recycled products but can also be recycled if they are ever removed!

Bamboo – You can use bamboo for just about anything. It is a very versatile eco-friendly material. You’ll be able to use it for flooring, walls, and furniture. This grass grows exceptionally quickly making it an incredibly sustainable solution. Countertops constructed of bamboo are tough and give your kitchen a special look. Nevertheless, bamboo countertops are not heat, stain, or water-resistant unless well maintained and cared for. They require regular upkeep to help keep them looking attractive.

Recycled Glass – Recycling glass is great. You are able to save tons of glass from landfills by picking this solution. Certainly one of the very best attributes of recycled glass countertops is their strength. They hardly ever chip, crack, or break. Being non-porous, they’re also water and stain-resistant. Recycled glass is the material for you if you are seeking a countertop that is 100% unique. No two products will be the same so each countertop is completely distinctive. Installation of glass countertops calls for professional installation. A recycled glass countertop is also one of the pricier options.

Recycled Paper – This countertop material is produced of 100% post-consumer paper. Not only are they produced with a recycled solution, but they can also be recycled if you decide to renovate. A green choice all around! Your custom home builder in Summit can let you know all the good characteristics of paper composite countertops. For example, its durability, stain resistance, and bacterial resistance. The biggest drawback of this material would be the limited number of color choices.

High-End Options

For those who are investing the time and money into creating your own custom home, a beautifully made kitchen may perhaps lead your list of priorities. You will find there are several high-end countertop solutions on the market, granite commonly being the most popular.

Granite – This stone is broadly recognized as the standard of beauty when it comes to kitchen design and style. Granite is really tough. It has a very high hardness rating and heat resistance grade. Granite comes in a variety of colors and, when installed properly, is very stain resistant. It can be vital to have granite installed appropriately by a specialist and given appropriate care. If there are any leaks in the sealant, these imperfections can lead to staining. Improperly sealed areas may also harbor bacteria. Another disadvantage of granite is that corners can crack and break if a thing heavy falls on them.

Engineered Quartz – Becoming more preferred, engineered quartz is just below granite in the hardness scale. This material is a non-porous surface producing it resistant to stains and water harm. One of the largest cons of quartz countertops is their price tag. Moreover, they will fade or warp if exposed to direct sunlight over time. Quartz also is not as heat resistant as some other countertop alternatives.

Custom Dwelling Builder in Summit can help Narrow Your Options

It might seem like an advantage to have numerous possibilities to choose from when it comes to countertops. However, it can also be absolutely overwhelming. This is where a conversation between you and your custom home builder in Summit can help. They should obtain information from you as far as what you desire. Some important characteristics that are important are visual qualities, your budget, and your common usage. From this, they can narrow down the possibilities to only the components that can suit your desires. It also assists to accomplish your very own analysis as well. This way, when you speak with your builder, you can ask the proper questions. Some builders may try to get you to work with a particular material. When you’re investing in your own custom home, make sure you are functioning with a builder who will let your dream become a reality, not theirs.

chimney service in Red Bank, chimney sweep on roof top backlit with a brush in the top of the chimney

We live in a time where there are so many facts available. You could discover nearly something about any topic. It might be tough to determine what are true details and what exactly is not. How do you identify what is true and what is a myth or an old wives tale? It may be tricky. First and foremost, on the subject of chimney service, do not try to complete it your self. Appropriate and safe chimney service in Red Bank normally demands the assistance of an expert. Browsing at-home chimney service is going to offer you loads of recommendations. Not all of them are accurate or valuable. In fact, some of them can truly be dangerous and unsafe. When you need to know what exactly is best for the care of one’s chimney, call a trusted chimney expert.

The Myths of DIY Chimney Cleaning

Do it oneself projects are extremely common. They can help you save revenue, offer you a sense of accomplishment, and in some cases reach a degree of customization not readily accessible. Even so, not all residence projects are safe to attempt oneself. Most at-home tips regarding chimney service in Red Bank have to do with preventative measures and short-cuts to avoid a full skilled cleaning.

• Start a chimney fire – It’s pretty much incomprehensible that we have to advise against this. Chimney fires are extremely unsafe and are the origin of about more than 25,000 residence fires every year in the U.S. DO NOT do this!

• Add salt to your logs – The theory behind this tip is the fact that salt will combine with all the water in the burning wood developing a weak acid. The acid will then travel up the chimney and break down creosote build-up. The dangers? You will be developing acid. This may cause corrosion of metal chimneys and other significant components of your fireplace and chimney.

• Brushing out the chimney oneself – It is been stated you could complete this job with the branch of a pine tree! Even though we’ve in no way attempted this, we cannot think it can be really helpful. And whilst chimney sweep products are readily available on the web, it’s not advisable. It can be an extremely messy process and you must go up on the roof. This brings it is own list of potential dangers. In addition, you’ll never ever be able to inspect your chimney as completely as a professional chimney service in Red Bank.

Skilled Chimney Service in Red Bank has Added benefits

Aside from all of the dangers and accidents you can avoid by obtaining chimney service in Red Bank by a licensed and seasoned expert, you’ll find other great added benefits. As pointed out above, without the proper tools and safety gear, a residence owner will never have the ability to appropriately inspect their chimney. Not only can you not see each of the components you have to, but you also might not know what to check for. Only a technician proficient in chimney cleaning and care can accurately check for hidden dangers. This is the reason it’s so crucial to obtain an annual inspection of your chimney by a specialist and to only have your chimney service in Red Bank done by specially educated technicians.

NJ ATM Service and the History of the ATM

nj atm service atm service nj

Automated teller machines have been around for decades.  There have been many upgrades, improvements, and changes in these machines since their beginning.  As with any technological advancement, hardware and software programs are constantly being improved upon. In addition, security is always being perfected and usage is extended and amended to deal with our ever-changing society.

Where it Began

The automated teller machine first made its debut in 1967 in London.  The actual inventor or original designer is up for discussion and difficult to determine exactly. One of the most notable names associated with the invention of the ATM is John Shepherd-Barron.  The first machine was installed at Barclay’s in London.  The idea arose from the need to access cash from your bank account after the bank had closed.  So, the idea of a cash vending machine was born. There were obviously some limitations in the original machines. This includes limited allowable withdrawal amounts. However, in just three years, there was already an advancement.

In 1970, just three years after the first ATM was put in use, the personal identification number, or PIN, was introduced to enhance security. Originally the banks had to issue account holders a paper voucher with an exclusive code in order to withdraw cash from the machines.  With the introduction of the PIN, the need for an account holder to have any interaction with a bank employee was no longer necessary.  The PIN allowed the ATM to authenticate an account holder’s identity on its own.

The ATM first arrived in the US in 1969.  Starting in New York, ATM usage was initially viewed as risky, but when a blizzard struck New York City in 1977 after Citibank put over $100 million into ATM installation throughout the city, the machines usage went up by twenty percent when banks were unable to open.  By 1984, the number of ATMs in use was over 100,000 and that number has grown exponentially since then.  With advancements in technology and security making constant advancements, the scope of usage and ability of ATMs is only expected to increase despite the fact that the reduced dependence on cash.

It is essential for any NJ ATM owner, whether it be a bank or a privately-owned company, to have safe, secure, and reliable NJ ATM service

As the ATM evolves along with technology and hackers and thieves become more adept at breaking through security features, security advancements and extended abilities for the ATM and its successors will be paramount.  Upgrades in security will be sure to include features such as biometric authentication and many more exciting aspects.

With all that has already happened in the ATMs history, the future is surely something to be excited about.  When it comes to NJ ATM service, companies will need to keep up with the ever changing field.  Putting your trust in a company that understands the industry, the value of safety and security, and the ability to keep up with demands is essential.  For NJ ATM service, put your trust in the right place.

The Future of NJ ATM Service and it’s Technology

Client smiling while taking advantage of improved NJ ATM service

The future of ATMs promises significant advancements in technology, capabilities, and user convenience. ATMs are set to evolve from mere cash dispensers into sophisticated, multi-functional devices integrated with cutting-edge technologies. This might include things such as artificial intelligence (AI), biometrics, and enhanced connectivity features.

Technologically, future ATMs will leverage AI to provide a more personalized banking experience. AI could enable ATMs to recognize customers via facial recognition or biometric authentication. This has the potential to eliminate the need for physical debit cards or PINs. Furthermore, it can enhance security against fraud. This shift will not only streamline transactions but also provide a tailored experience by displaying customized banking options based on the user’s history and preferences.

In terms of capabilities, we are likely to see features like real-time currency exchange, investment advice, and the purchase of digital financial products directly through the ATM interface. Some may even offer video conferencing features. Customers will be able to interact live with bank representatives for complex queries or immediate financial advice.

Convenience will also see a significant upgrade with the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity. This will enable ATMs to communicate seamlessly with customers’ smartphones and other smart devices. Users could set up a withdrawal on their phone, and upon arriving at the ATM, quickly receive their cash through a secure, contactless process. Additionally, better connectivity will facilitate the real-time monitoring of ATMs for maintenance and cash levels.

Moreover, as urbanization continues and digital banking needs evolve, ATMs will become more ubiquitous. They will appear in more varied and convenient locations. Portable or mobile ATMs could be deployed in temporary locations during events or in underserved areas. NJ ATM service will be greatly expanded.

Furnace Repair in Spring Lake NJ

If you are on the north east coast, you may be getting things around your house ready for fall and winter.  Cleaning out the gardens, closing the pool, testing your furnace.  Everything goes smoothly until you try to turn your heat on.  Something is wrong, but you have no idea what.  If you have an issue with your HVAC system, it’s time to call in a professional furnace repair technician in Spring Lake, NJ.

Some common furnace problems:

  • Unclean air filter – By not cleaning and replacing your filters often enough, your furnace will be working harder than it needs to. This is a repair that you can do yourself without having to call in a professional.  The filter should be changed every few months so the change of seasons is a good cue to do so.
  • High pitched squealing – If when you turn your furnace on for the first time since summer and you hear a high-pitched squealing, it may indicate a problem with your blower belt. Just like the belts in your car, the belts in your furnace should be checked routinely for wear and damage.  If you hear that noise from your furnace, call in a furnace repair team to take a look and fix it for you before more damage is done.
  • Grinding Sound – If you hear a scraping or grinding sound when you turn on your furnace, you may have worn out ball bearings. This is certainly something that requires professional service.  Turn off your furnace immediately and place a call.
  • Furnace won’t turn on – The first step in attempting to trouble shoot this problem would be to check your circuit breaker. If you flip the breaker off and on and the furnace still doesn’t turn on, you may have a wiring issue.  The other problem could be in the circuit breaker itself.  In either situation, it’s time to call a repair man.  One last thing to check if your furnace won’t turn on is the safety switch on the furnace.  The safety switch prevents the furnace from operating while the access panel is not in place.
  • Furnace is not producing heat – The answer to this is going to sound silly, but double check that your thermostat is now set to heat. Many repair calls have been wasted because homeowners have forgotten to change the thermostat from “Cool” to “Heat.”   Not producing heat or the inability to maintain the temperature could also be a clogged filter so checking the air filter is also an item to check.

An Update on Furnace Repair in Spring Lake

More on How Dirty Air Filters Affect Spring Lake Furnace Repair

Dirty air filters in furnaces can lead to a multitude of problems. Problems beyond merely causing the furnace to work harder than necessary. When air filters are clogged with dust, pet dander, and other particulates, the airflow through the furnace becomes restricted. This reduction in airflow means the furnace must exert more effort to circulate warm air throughout your home. The increased effort over time can lead to increased wear and tear on its components. This additional strain can result in premature breakdowns and costly repairs, potentially requiring professional intervention.

Furthermore, dirty air filters compromise the air quality in your home. They are less effective at trapping contaminants, allowing dust, allergens, and other pollutants to circulate through your living spaces. This can aggravate respiratory conditions, such as asthma and allergies, and contribute to a less healthy indoor environment.

Regular maintenance, including changing the air filter every few months is crucial for furnace efficiency and longevity. Seasonal changes serve as a helpful reminder to perform this simple yet essential task. By keeping air filters clean, homeowners can ensure their furnace operates efficiently. It also maintains better indoor air quality and helps to avoid unnecessary furnace repair in Spring Lake and its associated expenses.

How to Sealcoat your Marlboro NJ Driveway

If you have an asphalt driveway, as a majority of homes do, you may have heard talk of sealcoating your Marlboro NJ driveway.  What is it and do you have to do it?  If you do, how do you go about it?  Sealcoating can be both an easy job and a very labor-intensive job depending on the age, condition, and size of your driveway.  Some general rules of thumb when it comes to sealcoating is to only do it about every 3 years, if your driveway is covered in alligator cracks, it won’t be helpful, don’t apply to concrete, and when in doubt, call in TDM Construction, the professionals of sealcoating in Marlboro NJ!

Asphalt driveways are easily affected by weather, environment, and heavy use.  Oxidation, excessive heat, and oil and other auto liquids can wreak havoc on your driveway resulting in cracks, pits, and a crumbling surface.  If your driveway has major imperfections whether they are from improper installation or just age and natural influences, it is best to contact a company to evaluate the job.  Sealcoating does help protect a well-laid driveway, but will not prove to be much help in a driveway that already has major flaws.

Once you have determined that sealcoating is an appropriate treatment for your driveway, there are certain steps you need to take to prepare your driveway for application.

sealcoating marlboro nj

  1. Ensure the driveway is clean. Use a broom, hose, or leaf blower to make sure the surface is clear of any dirt or debris.
  2. If your driveway bleeds into other areas, you may want to tape the edges of the driveway so the sealant does not encroach on those surfaces.
  3. Make sure the temperature is above 60 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 24 hours on either side of the application. Any colder and it can affect the process.  Also, check for rain a day or two before and after putting the sealcoat down.  If there is rain in the forecast, it is best to wait.
  4. Be sure that the driveway can be unused for 24 to 48 hours following the product being applied. It needs this much time to cure to make sure the surface is clean and free from any divots or imperfections.
  5. Cover any grease or gas marks with an appropriate product and fill in any minor cracks with a filler.

Now that your driveway is ready for its fresh face, you’re ready to apply.  Make sure you get enough product to cover your driveway in one application.  You don’t want to apply it in more than one session as it will result in an uneven surface.  You may want to place the buckets of the product at the approximate area where each bucket will end so that you do not have to walk over the driveway as you go.  When you are ready, mix the product with a paddle mixer (a wooden stir stick will not suffice), open the bucket and pour a six-inch wide strip or an upside-down U onto the driveway starting closest to your home and moving down towards the street.  Using a driveway squeegee, spread out the product strip by strip until you are at the street.  Always maintain a puddle of product in front of the squeegee.  Once done with the first coat, wait 24 hours, then apply the second coat in a perpendicular direction from the first application.

When two full coats of sealant are applied, let it cure for approximately 48 hours before you let anyone drive on it.  If you fail to properly prepare your driveway for the treatment, it will result in failure.  It may crack or flake off.  If you apply too much sealcoat, whether in one application or if you apply sealcoat too often, it will also defeat the purpose.

If you need help sealcoating your Marlboro NJ driveway, contact a professional.

While smaller driveways may be a DIY project, a larger driveway may be too much for a homeowner to handle in an appropriate amount of time.  A qualified company can help you sealcoat your driveway in Marlboro NJ to perfection.

What happens during a trip to a Manahawkin dental office

manahawkin dentist manahawkin dental officeA lot of people absolutely dread going to the dentist in Manahawkin.  Some fear it so much that they avoid the trips all together.  If you avoid going to the dentist for more than 12 months, you are setting yourself up for a more difficult visit when you do work up the courage to go.  Regular visits to the dentist help keep your mouth healthy, your teeth is great shape, and your overall health better.  With routine dental care, your trip to the dentist should be a piece of cake (disclaimer, cake is not great for your teeth so make sure you limit those sweets)!

The first step of you dentist appointment will be with a Manahawkin dental hygienist.  They will work one tooth at a time using a variety of tools to scrape plaque off and remove tartar.  Once done, they will floss your teeth well.  The last step of their cleaning process will be to polish your teeth using a motorized brush.  You’ll be asked to rinse your mouth well at the completion of these steps.  If you feel uncomfortable at any point during your cleaning or exam, just let the hygienist or dentist know and you will be able to take a break.

Depending on how long it has been since you have seen the dentist last, you may be asked if you would like x-rays taken of your mouth.  Dental x-rays can help detect problems like cavities, impacted teeth, and receding gum lines.  While they are not mandatory, they are recommended on a yearly basis to keep track of any issues you might be having, or detect any problems early on.

Bayside Dentistry is a dental office providing service to Manahawkin, NJ

You can click the logo below to visit Bayside Dentistry if you are looking for a Manahawkin dentist or dental office.  They are highly rated on Google and our readers from Manahawkin say they are great dentists!

Once the hygienist is done with their portion of your visit, the dentist will be in to see you and complete your exam.  They will evaluate the job the hygienist just completed, review your chart from your last visit, discuss any potential problems the hygienist may have identified, and examine your mouth, face, neck and glands using a gloved hand.  When examining all these areas, they are screening you for signs of cancer as well by feeling for lumps or using special tools or tests that may identify areas of tissue that may seem irregular.  Your dentist will inspect your teeth and gums for signs of decay, check your bite for any alignment issues, and ask if you have any questions about oral care or your exam.  They will identify any areas of concern and give you their recommendations on how to best proceed to take care of the issues.

The longer you wait in between dental exams, the more painful your cleaning and examination may be.  Without regular visits to your trusted Manahawkin dental office, the more plaque and tartar builds up on the surface of your teeth.  The cleaning and examination may be painful for you and may cause your gums to bleed slightly because it will be more difficult to remove stains, the plaque, and the tartar.  The bleeding should not be excessive and should not last long.  All the more reason to see your dentist regularly.  If you don’t feel comfortable with your dentist, it may be time to find a new one who can provide you with the care that you deserve.

Marine Fuel Tanks: Plastic Vs. Aluminum

There are many age old debates in the world of marine industry and recreation. Sailing vs. motorboating. Inboard vs. outboard. Which is worse, a jet skiers or a school or man-eating sharks. And so on.

Another less popular but still significant debate is aluminum marine fuel tanks vs. plastic marine fuel tanks. Both are widely used. Both are popular. So which is best for you?

There is no right answer to this question, but what we can at least do is go over some of the pros and cons of each. Read them. Weight them. Consider them. And then make up your own mind. So without further ad…

Plastic vs. Aluminum:

Aluminum Fuel Tanks: Properly mounted, a good custom aluminum marine fuel tank can outlast the boat! At the very least, expect to get several decades out of it.

Plastic Fuel Tanks: Over time, they can begin to leech gas vapor, making your bilge stink like fuel.

Aluminum: These days, new aluminum fuel tanks have baffles inside to keep the fuel from sloshing around. This is great for boat stability and fuel efficiency.

Plastic: They have a long life span. They are resistant to most corrosion, and thus are likely to outlast your boat (unless punctures or broken).

Aluminum: They can withstand more punishment than plastic. They are harder to puncture, and when struck they’ll dent rather than fracture or break. No need to spell out why this is a positive, right?

Plastic: They generally don’t have baffles inside, which means the fuel will slosh around a lot, leading to stress on the tank walls and less stability for your vessel.

Aluminum: In almost all cased, the tank in your boat will be a custom aluminum fuel tank made specifically for your boat. They’re all custom made, which makes getting replacements that perfectly match your boat easy. This also allows you to upgrade to something larger if you want to carry more fuel, or smaller if you want a lighter load.

Plastic: Custom plastic tanks are rare and expensive, so in most cases your choices will be limited to pre-made tanks and preconfigured designs.

As you can see, there are no right and wrong answers here. Both have their advantages, and both will last a long time in your boat, especially if you keep up with your maintenance and boat care. And we certainly hope you are!

Plastic is probably more common than aluminum at this point, and changes in boat fuel may mean long term changes in which is best for you and your boat, but for now we think it’s fair to say that there are no losers here. Choose either and you’re likely to walk away a happy boater.

The 5 Most Famous TV Pets

In running a service that offers dog training in Toms River, we obviously see a lot of pets of all shapes, sizes, species and breeds. You name them and we’ve probably helped care for them.

One thing we don’t see a lot of, however, are celebrity pets. And believe it or not, there is a such thing as celebrity pets! You probably know more than a few of them yourself. In order to prove it, we’ve compiled a list of what we believe are the five most famous TV pets of all time. We’ve excluded cartoon pets, otherwise lovable scamps like Snoopy and Scooby Doo would dominate this list, and we’ve avoided movies, too, so you won’t be seeing Babe the pig.

Read on to see who we chose:

5) Rin Tin Tin

Even without actually having seen the show – it isn’t exactly a monster hit in reruns these days – today’s generation knows Rin Tin Tin by reputation. This heroic German Sheppard saw battle, rescued people, and managed to be the star of his very own TV show. He even had a listing in the Los Angeles telephone book! We’ve welcome him with open arms in our Toms River dog training facility.

4) Petey

These days, pit bulls are feared by as many people (perhaps unfairly) as they are loved. That wasn’t always the case. One of the most famous TV pets of all time is Petey, the lovable pit bull companion to Our Gang, aka the Little Rascals. Smart, playful, and loyal, Petey is instantly recognizable thanks to the big black ring around one eye. It wasn’t fake, either! Later dogs to play the part had to have it applied with makeup, but the original Petey (whose real name was “Pal”) really was born with that amazing facial feature!

3) Eddie

When the legendary sitcom Cheers was spun off into Frasier, no one expected it to be the massive, long-running hit that it was. Perhaps more unexpected, however, was the popularity of the show’s little canine, Eddie. Eddie was an adorable, smart dog who ended up winning over viewers in a big way. He actually got more fan mail than anyone else on the show! Some even credit him for sparking a surge in demand for Jack Russell Terriers.

2) Mr. Ed

Mr. Ed may not be as famous with today’s generation, but even kids of today probably know the theme song that accompanied this taking horse’s antics. He and his pal Wilbur delighted several generations of TV watchers and created a legacy that lasts to this day, even here at our dog training Toms River facility. Not bad for a horse!

1) Lassie

There is no TV pet more famous and beloved than Lassie. Lassie was a loving Collie who made a career of rescuing her owner’s son, Timmy, and she did a great job of it. If every canine at our Toms River dog training service were as smart and helpful as Lassie, they could practically run the place themselves! She’s the most popular TV pet of all time for a reason.
